How Diary Go handles your diary, photos and purchases.

Your diary

Diary Go stores your entries, photos and revision history on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your diary, and the app includes no advertising or analytics service. The app does not add its own password or end-to-end encryption layer; device and iCloud protections apply.

Optional iCloud sync

When you enable sync, entries, photos, edits and deletion records are sent to your private iCloud database using Apple CloudKit. Other devices signed into the same iCloud account can download them when sync is enabled. Sync runs while Diary Go is open and when you return to it. Availability depends on your network, iCloud account and storage quota. Turning sync off stops new transfers; it does not erase copies already stored locally or in iCloud.

History and deletion

Deleting an entry removes it from the current diary view and syncs that deletion. Previous revisions remain in History so you can recover edits or conflicting versions. Deleting a current entry is not permanent erasure of its history. To remove local diary data, delete the app rather than offloading it. To remove cloud data, use your device's iCloud storage controls for Diary Go. Disable sync on all your devices and remove their local copies first so retained data is not uploaded again.

Photos and imports

The photo library is used only when you choose to attach photos. Selected images are copied into the app's storage. Excel/CSV files you choose are processed on your device; imported diary entries participate in iCloud sync only if you enable it.

Exports

When you choose Export diary, Diary Go creates a ZIP on your device containing current entries as CSV and JSON plus their photos. Earlier versions and deleted entries are not included. The ZIP is not encrypted. You choose where to save or share it through the system share sheet; the app does not automatically upload exports. Temporary export files are removed after the share sheet closes; abandoned files are cleaned on a later export after 24 hours. Copies you save or share are controlled by you and the destination service.

Purchases

Apple processes the optional one-time Diary Go Pro purchase. Diary Go uses StoreKit to check verified purchase status and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple manages its own transaction records under its privacy policy.

Support

If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to respond to your request. Avoid sending private diary entries unless necessary. This policy must be updated if the app's data practices change.
